About Theresa
Theresa Burton is the President of Abundant Charities Corporation, where she has dedicated over 20 years to supporting the elderly and individuals with developmental disabilities. Her mission is to enhance self-worth and improve quality of life by fostering an environment of continuous learning and personal growth.
With a firm belief that everyone has the potential to grow, Theresa challenges the notion of limitations. She has played a pivotal role in helping individuals facing significant behavioral and emotional challenges recognize their inherent value, leading to transformative changes that enrich their lives.
“Positivity is at the heart of everything I do,” she shares. “I strive to maintain a positive outlook, even in difficult situations, seeking out the lessons they bring. I refer to these moments as ‘ministry tools’ that guide my journey.”
Theresa holds a degree in Psychology and is a certified Life and Health Coach, focusing on spiritual and emotional healing and helping others discover their purpose.
A proud Akron, Ohio native, Theresa is also recognized as a local gospel artist. With a heartfelt collection of music, including her albums ‘Simply Amazing’ and more recently 'Shut Off the Noise,' available on platforms like Amazon, she has been a cherished praise and worship leader in various churches throughout the region.
As an author, she has published three insightful books, including ‘New View’ and ‘Big GOD!’ Currently, she is working on a new series titled "What NOT to do ..." and is producing her sophomore recording project, having just released the first single, “Shut Off the Noise.”
Beyond her professional endeavors, Theresa is a devoted mother to three grown children—Ciara, Diamond, and Justus—and a proud grandmother to five grandsons: Chylin, J’miere, Rayshawene, Ziyar, and Zayne. She is also a Great NaNa to two beautiful great-granddaughters, Chaylin and MahLiya.
